Queen Raj

So I finally made it to the big tent for a class with the Bikram teacher trainees.  Rajashree taught the class (apparently her last until graduation) and it was AWE-SOME.

It's been a long time since I haven't been able to see myself in the mirror.  I really kind of enjoyed it.  I think I focus too much on what it looks like in the mirror sometimes instead of feeling it.  Looking wasn't an option today and I had one of the best Bikram classes I've had in a long time.

The energy was great and I'm a little bit in love with Raj.  She's funny and she's on top of things.  You think she can't see you?  Wrong.  She can see you and she'll tell you to fix it.

Bikram made a small appearance towards the end of the class.  The thing I've never understood about Bikram is his hair.  I don't get it.  It was flowing freely from under his little cap, though, and that, combined with his outfit made me wonder if I'd somehow entered a Bikram time warp back to the late '70s.

Overall it was a great experience and I'm going to try to get down there at least one more time before they're done because it really is great energy and great fun.

I'm so glad you made it down there! I was so sick yesterday, I think I ate something bad. I was hoping to feel better for Bikram at 5, but no dice. Thankfully I was better today and did a double, but am heartbroken I missed Raj. I felt the same way when I went down to the big tent. With the mirror gone, it changes everything. I like your assessment of that though....that you have to feel instead of look. Spot on! I really hope they stay here for spring so I can catch her. I was told that was the last class she is teaching at this training session.

Yes!! I am the same about the mirrors. I love the middle of the room. My balancing postures get SO much better when I'm not staring at myself anymore.

Don't try to understand the hair. Just love the hair! There are only two hairstyles that I've seen (in this decade at least): the Japanese samurai topknot, and the blow-out with the cap. I just remember this one movie night at seminar when he was about to go and grab something from the lobby, and he was like, "wait!! where's my hat?? i can't go out there without my hat!!" Wouldn't leave the room without it. Oh so vain. Hahaha... have you had his class yet? You've GOT to. It's a trip and a half.

Yeah, it was a heap of fun. BYC- that sucks that you were sick, but I'm sure you'll have other opportunities eventually ( or in the future). J- his hat is hilare. I'm so glad you posted that video with the earlier version of his hair. That combover gives Trump's a run for its money! ^___^
